The Prez!!!

Why do we need celebrity endorsements for political candidates? Is it because they think the general public is to stupid to think for ourselves or IS the general public to stupid to think for themselves and actually believe what some airhead celebrity is paid to say????

Caveman again??!!

While watching the chopper challenge Powerplant choppers is building a Geico caveman bike. Please see my previous post about the caveman. HAHAHA!!

TV

I've been watching chopper challenge tonight on cmt apparently they are doing a marathon. I think alot of gearheads are like me and watch these shows because they are remotely related to their interests. The problem with these tv shows are that they focus on the drama (albeit staged or real) not the actual building process. I guess they do that so they don't lose the interest of average Joe Sheeple that buys the tasteless crap that they try to pass off as whats cool. Joe Sheeple looks at a bike that someone put their heart and soul into building and has no clue just how much it took to build it but has no problem pointing out what he thinks are mistakes or flaws in the bike or car for that matter. Especially when it's being built on a real budget and not "sponsored" by a multi billion dollar company thats only interested in it as a commerical. He just saw Paul Turtle Sr. belittle his own kid (and they guys that show up and work for him everyday making his dumbass rich) and think that is how it's done. I don't give a shit what Mr. Sheeple thinks I build my stuff for me the way I want to. When I started my bike I had a picture of what I wanted in my head and thats what came out. When you can do that Mr. Sheeple then come talk to me and I'll shake your hand....Then I'll tell you how much your bike sucks!!HAHA!

HAHA!!

Pushrod rules ! Me, not so much!

We went to the PUSHROD show Sat. night at the Cadillac Pizza Pub the they rocked the place as usual. Even the yuppies that came in later were feeling it!! Mike and the guys got me up on stage to sit in with them after some prodding from my wife ,Jeremy and the whole damn bar! It's been a long time since I've played with a band and even longer since I played to a crowd but it was alot of fun. Even though it seemed like I was on a one man crusade to make PUSHROD suck, it just reminded me how much I miss playing music. More in the future maybe??....Who knows?

Tonight

Tonight Pushrod at Cadillac Pizza Pub in Mckinney TX! Come on down and hang out with us so PUSHROD can rock your socks off!!!!

What a ride...

My friend Charlie came by yesterday driving his 1963 MG midget and my nephew conned Charlie into giving him a ride in it! With a small block chevy v8 putting out some where near 400hp this car is a handful but lots of fun. Trenton giggled for a half hour afterwards!I'm trying my hardest to ruin as many kids as possible by turning them into gearheads..I can't think of a better way than a ride in a car like this!! Loud , small and fast a good combination!!!

Am I ?

Am I the only one that thinks the Geico caveman is a whiney bitch???!!!

Well what do ya know??!!

I always thought that those people that get stuck in a rut and only listen to a certain kind of music or a certain time period of music or the music they listened to in their high school or college days were just not really into music or just sheep that followed the herd. Well what do ya know it seems like that has been me over the last couple of years. I've tended to look to the past more and more for music instead of the current crop of bands and music. There seems to be nothing out there I really like. Is it because the music that typically moves me is not commercial enough to sell to advertising companies for fast food chains or Nissan car commercials ?
Well a big fat shimmering light of hope is an Akron Ohio based band called The Black Keys. I got in to these guys a couple of years ago and I think they are great. A two piece band that is this good just rules!
Check em out!!

Wanna look cool and impress people??

Then buy this....

Wow what a cool bike is it a triumph or a shovelhead?

I recently built an old Harley ironhead Sportster. It 's the first Harley I've built and even though I've owned a bunch of Japanese and Italian sportbikes this is first Harley I've owned. I've come to the conclusion that there is something to the whole Harley mystique, no I'm not talking about putting on an American flag and eagle doo rag with your leather chaps and suiting up for that 5 mile "run" to the local psuedo biker bar slash restaurant on your brand new "custom" $30,000 couch on wheels with $5,000 of extra chrome doo-dads that make it custom in your eyes, I'm talking about the sound, feel and pure mechanics of an old Harley Davidson that you put together with your own hands. When I got my bike is was a cobbled together POS and was a very uncool almost stock bike with a Krylon paint job(If they spent that much money!). The redeeming quality that this bike had was that it ran and was in the price range that I wanted to give. I brought the bike home and rode it around a little and almost immediately notice just how mechanical this thing is. The Japanese build good bikes and while the new Harleys are light years ahead of mine they are just too good ,they lack soul and character.
I took my bike to my shop and tore it down after only a ride or two and broke out the sawzall to cut the bike in half. After welding on a new hardtail rear section I added a 21" front wheel with a mini spool and period correct avon speedmaster tire. Then came the paint and only metalflake , lace and candies would fit the bill! A double white stripe tire for the rear and drag bars with a sprung bates style seat. Lots more fab work and parts went into the bike before I got to ride it for the first time but man was it worth it. The look was spot on, the sound was there and the ride.... well yeah it rides rough but it really connects you with the bike and the road. After taking off all the unnecessary crap it made the bike very quick and responsive and light and nimble. You just can't get that on a new stock 800lb Harley. What's funny is alot of the "Harley guys" don't know what it is. "Is that a Triumph or a shovelhead?"
There is nothing like going outside and kick starting a rigid frame chopper and blasting off through the night at a high rate of speed.... nothing.
